
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
At Happy Hounds with Hilary, your pet’s safety, well-being, and happiness are our top priorities. We understand that your furry friends are family, and we are committed to providing the highest level of care. Transparency is important to us, so we want to ensure you fully understand our policies and procedures.
Below, you’ll find important information outlining our commitment to you and your pets, as well as our policies and your responsibilities as a pet owner. Thank you for trusting us with your beloved companions!
Client Requirements & Responsibilities
I. Vaccination Requirements
All pets must be up to date on their vaccinations. Proof of vaccination can be sent directly from your veterinarian to support@happyhoundswithhilary.com.
Required Vaccinations:

Dogs: Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella

Cats: Rabies, FVRCP, and FeLV
If your pet is not vaccinated or their vaccinations are expired, you may sign a Vaccination Exemption Release of Liability Form before services can be provided.
II. Owner Responsibility & Liability
The Registered Owner assumes full responsibility and liability (including but not limited to strict, vicarious, joint and several, and financial liability) for the health, safety, and behavior of their pet. Happy Hounds with Hilary and its affiliates cannot be held liable for any injuries sustained by your pet while in our care.
III. Medical & Behavioral Updates
The Registered Owner must inform Happy Hounds with Hilary of any medical or behavioral changes in their pet to ensure proper care and safety.
IV. Booking Changes & Cancellations

Cancellations & Changes: Any modifications to sitting bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. Cancellations made not within 24 hours will incur a 20% fee of the total booking cost, which must be paid before scheduling future services.

For bookings during major holidays (see list below), cancellations made less than 7 days before the first scheduled visit will be charged 50% of the total invoice.

No-Show Policy: If you are not home or the sitter does not have a way to access your home at the start of your booking, a 50% fee of the total booking cost will be charged. This fee must be paid before scheduling future services.
V. Payment & Late Fees
All invoices must be paid by the listed Due Date. Any unpaid invoices will incur a $50 late fee.
VI. Recognized Holidays
All holidays will incur a $40 surcharge. The recognized holidays are as follows: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Father's Day, Independence Day (4th of July), Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
Emergency Policies & Procedures
In the event of a medical emergency, your pet will receive treatment based on the instructions provided in your Emergency Treatment Authorization Form. The Registered Owner is responsible for paying all charges and invoices issued by the designated veterinary clinic in full.
